Common Flatbed Shipping Questions
LTL Flatbed Freight
If I don’t need the complete flatbed trailer can I pay for only a portion of it?
Yes, utilizing only a part of a flatbed is possible, and less expensive. This is also referred to as LTL, which means less than truckload. Our freight consultants will immediately tell you if this is an option once they have the exact freight weight and dimensions.
Freight Tarping
Do you provide tarps and tarping over flatbed loads?
Yes, as long as you tell us this requirement when booking the truck. The driver will provide the tarps and perform the actual tarping process.
Trailer Ramps
Do you have trailers with ramps?
Yes, we can get a flatbed-trailer with ramps, you must specify this when booking the trailer. You will have to provide us with accurate weight as the ramps have a maximum weight capacity.
Freight Shrink Wrap

The driver or we do not provide shrink-wrap services.
Forklift Freight Loading
Do you provide forklift service?
The driver or we do not provide forklift services.
Crane Freight Loading
Does your company provide crane services?
Our company, nor the driver provide crane services.
Freight Insurance
If the equipment we are shipping is very expensive, is your company insured for expensive freight?
Yes, we can always get supplemental insurance. At trailer booking time our freight consultants always ask the value of the freight and recommend an appropriate coverage insurance option. All trucks carry insurance regardless, however, additional per load coverage is always available.
Freight Crating
Do you provide crating services?
The driver or our company does not provide crating services.
Flatbed Shipping Tip
Always provide the complete shipment details, these must always include the following:
Dimensions – always round up factional inch numbers
Weight (Total) – always round up numbers.

Expedited Flatbed Freight
Always determine beforehand if the freight will need to go via expedited service, as it will increase the shipping costs. Expedited service generally requires team-driver services if the freight has to deliver overnight or across the country in two days. The cost difference will be significant due to two drivers transporting the flatbed freight, so plan ahead for expedited shipments.
